What's better?

Than a made up bed? A made up bed with new bedding!
My new bedding came in today. This is where the magic happens.

just kidding

And what's better than new bedding? The box that is came in.

And what's better than homemade pizza? yum!

This is obviously pre-cooked. It didn't last long enough for a post-cooked pic.

Straight A's

John John also brought home his 'report card'. Not only has he improved, but most of the skills that he was either 'NOT ACHIEVED' or 'EMERGING' on, he has now 'MASTERED'. I am so very proud of him.

Weekend Happenings

This weekend was fabulous and productive.

Friday night, John took me out to our favorite resturant for my birthday dinner. We went to Bonefish and it was fabulous. My mom watched the kids for us overnight as well. After dinner, we stopped by the bar that my best friend Kirsten works at to say hi. I haven't seen her in several months.
The next morning, John and I had breakfast at IHOP, then picked up the kids. On the way home, we got the brilliant idea to build a beer pong table. If you are not familiar, it is a game that is played by college kids (and old married couples wanting to relive their youth) So, after several hours of designing and building, we have successfully created a beautiful table. We even used the left over hard wood from our floors in the house.

We also completed alot of household chores that needed to be done. Bagging the leaves in the front yard, cleaning out a closet, and cleaning up the garage. Very productive weekend I must say. Tonight after the kids went to bed, John and I played a round of beer pong. I won!

Here are a few more pics of the completed table.

Dilemma

To watch....

or...

Obviously, since John is a Gator fan, I guess I will be watching the game, but you better believe I have my DVR ready to go!

Now...how do I pretend to actually go for the gators?

Happy Birthday to....ME!

yep, it is my 29th birthday, the first of many I have been told. The only person, other than me, that has a harder time believing I am 29 is my mom. Her 'baby' is 29, yikes.

Let's see, I was greeted by beautiful roses in my kitchen this morning.

And a beautiful card that I will not show what the inside said, but you can guess it probably had to do with something John wants to give me later, LOL. KIDDING!!!

Cassie came over after the kids left on the bus and we went for a walk/run around the neighborhood. Anything to kick start my weight loss would be nice. On the way home, about a half mile from the house, the bottom falls out of the sky (not off my butt like I thought was going to happen) And we took off running. Poor Joshie was in the stroller and getting beaned in the head with icy, cold raindrops. He cried the whole way home.

We have no plans for today, other than dinner at home with the kids. John plans to take me out this weekend for dinner, and I get to wear my hot dress I wore on New Years Eve!

I would also like to add, this guy really creeps me out.

What happens to your Christmas Tree after Christmas?

This has become a New Years tradition with our good friends. We send the guys out to look for everyone's discarded Christmas trees on the side of the road, load them up, bring them home, and burn them.

Last night we hung out at our good friends, the Wallis's and had a fire and enjoyed the company of others. However, our kids were not having it and we ended up leaving early to put them to bed. John and I decided to light our own fire and find some trees to burn. So, I drove the neighborhood and found two trees on the road and brought them home.

John sat one in the fire pit and tried to light it, but it was so wet it wouldn't go. He grabbed the gas, like a true red neck, and lit it up. The fire blaze was taller than our house! It was super crazy. I ran inside to grab my camera but it had already come down alot, but I did manage to get a few shots.

After the tree burn, we sat around the fire and talked and I snapped a few shots of the fire.

It was actually nice to sit by a fire with John and just talk. We don't get too much alone time anymore, so we try to enjoy it when we have it.

UPDATED
On the way home tonight, John and I saw this monster Christmas tree on the side of the road. We threw it up on top of the van and drove home, slowly.
Here are a few pics of how high the flames actually get. It is unbelievable.

Happy New Year!

Hope everyone had a wonderful, safe new years eve.

John and I attended a wedding in the afternoon, Congrats Samara and Mark. Then later that evening we attended a New Years Eve party hosted by Shauna and John. It was great to get out for the evening. John's wonderful cousin Dallas watched the kids for us, which was awesome.

Here's a few pics from the car as we were heading to the wedding. We were in such a rush, we never got one together, sad.

(not smiling here, I have no clue why?)

(and smiling)

I actually had a woman at the reception come up to me out of the blue, and tell me I was the most elegant woman there. I had to turn around to see who she was talking to, oh me! Me? Holy Cow! It honestly made me feel great to hear such a compliment, that wasn't from John's mouth.

We actually rang in the new year watching Dick Clark on the TV. The poor man appeared to be melting on the tv, and it wasn't due to the drinks we had earlier. I got my New Years Eve kiss from John for the 10th year in a row :)

Here's a pic from the party. Apparently Sherri Jo loves Asti.

We have no resolutions this year, yet. I would like to lose weight, like alot of people, but sofar the year has not started out that way. (I was already in the bag of Doritos a few minutes ago, shhh)

Welcome 2009!
