My new Beco Carrier came!
Today I received my new Beco Butterfly carrier. Beco had to change their design because a big company has decided that since they are trying to patent the buckle carrier idea, that no one else can make them.
So, this is my old carrier, the 4th Gen Beco. I still have it and still use it. Joshie was...8 or 9 months here?
And here we are in the Butterfly, gosh he has gotten big!
Anyways, the new design allows the baby to sit in the carrier, in a actual seat. So, I can unclip the waist belt and he can dangle from my shoulders and not fall. It is nice, a good design, it just takes a bit to get used to. It also has an infant insert for little babies that keeps them up high in the carrier.
Ok, I still cannot get over how much Joshie has grown. He even has a little baby mullet going on.
We took the kids for a walk tonight , and of course I left my camera at home, doh! Aliya and John John rode their bikes and Joshie rode on my back.
When we got home, I had John take Aliya's training wheels off. I refuse to buy her a new bike until she can ride without them. So, until she does, she will have a Dora bike, and FWI-Dora is not cool in 1st grade!
So, after alot of running up and down the driveway, with Daddy, not Mommy, she started to get it. Hopefully, we can pass on ole Dora to John John, and FWI-Dora rocks in PreK.

More Pumpkin Adventures
Took the kids to the pumpkin patch today to pick out the perfect pumpkin.
I was never able to get a pic of all 3 of them together, but I did get one with Joshie on John John's lap, which is amazing in itself!
There were all of these weird looking pumpkins and gourds. Some pumpkins looked like they had horrible pimples and then some gourds were as big as pumpkins, think there was some funny business going on in the pumpkin farm.
Joshie had a great time climbing on the pumpkins, he wouldn't even sit still for a pic.
I still can't get over John John, he was all smiles. He had a blast!
Once we got home, the boys took a nap while Aliya and I carved the pumpkin. This was the first time we have carved once since she was little, so she wasn't aware of the stringy yuck inside.
But she eventually dug right in.
And, we carved a scary pumpkin.

Pumpkin Painting
The entire 1st grade at Aliya's school has been asked to bring in a decorated pumpkin for their wing. Aliya and I decided we would do a Sponge Bob pumpkin. So, this morning I got busy. It wasn't too hard to paint, however, after I came back with a Sharpie to outline, the paint started peeling...curses!!!

Halloween Sneak Peak/My baby girl is growing up *tear
Aliya was invited to a Halloween Party. She is there right now. However, the part that makes me a tiny bit sad, is she is at a little boy's house, her 'boyfriend' from school. And she is by herself. This is the first time I have dropped her (or any of my kids) off to a party and left.
She is a pirate for halloween, here are the pics. She had to take pics with the pirate gun too.

Weekend Happenings
Friday night, we went to Goldhead State Park (the park we camped at a few weeks ago) to meet my Dad and StepMom for the evening. They camp in a fifth wheel, and the kids seemed to enjoy that way better than tent camping.
It was my dad's 58th birthday.
Then on Saturday, I went to a friend from high school's baby shower. I also got to see Lucie and baby Matthew. He is so handsome.
Today, I am looking forward to relaxing, reading more of 'The Memory Keepers Daughter' and watching football. Oh, I did make homemade laundry detergent today. It was super easy.

yes, we start them off young
We have an old original Nintendo System that was mine, and amazingly, still works. We started Aliya off on it when she was 2 or 3, and she was an instant pro. I can remember one time John walking in her room to check on her and he said that she was at world 8-1, that she had watched him beat the game and knew the warp zones.
Recently, John John has started asking to play games, so John brings out old faithful. Low and behold, he is a gamer too. In just the few weeks of play, John said that he saw John John already at world 4-1, using the warp zone. Crazy how they pick that up.
We are a big gaming house, but I try to not let them live on their games. However, for John John, I am considering his gaming time 'thumb therapy' since his thumb use is not so good.

Cookies
Aliya and I made Halloween cookies today.
I bought the premade cookie dough. and tried to roll it out and cut into pumpkin shapes with a cookie cutter. However, that did not work and I ended up flattening out balls of cookie dough into "pumkin" shapes and adding stems.
After they cooled, I attempted to remove them from my baking stone, and realized I should have attempted that earlier, a few of them broke, and they did not look to appetizing.
Aliya and I made orange icing and iced the cookies and then we added chocolate sprinkles.
They did not turn out like I had envisioned, but apparently they tasted great.
I just wanted to add, my friend Sheree inspired this madness. Thanks girl!

Back from Disney
Yesterday, we took the kids and John's cousin Dallas to Disney. It was Joshie and Dallas's first time.
We woke everyone up at 5:30. Our plan was to drive down there, spend the day, and drive back. We live about 3 hours away, so we would get there right after the park opened.
Aliya and Joshie were super excited, I think Joshie was just excited for someone to get him up extra early. John John didn't want to move. He cocooned up in his blankie and laid on the floor while we tried to dress him.
Long drive, kids were bored. It was the first time Aliya asked "Are we there yet?" consecutively and she asked it like 20 times. Joshie was happy for the majority of the time, but the carseat did him in, and he wanted out.
We made it to Disney, parked in the Pluto Lot and joined the stampede to the front gates. We took our stroller and my Beco which worked out great.
As soon as we were in, we made our way back to Fantasy Land and everyone but Joshie and I got on the teacups. I hate those things, makes me sick.
Next we hopped around the park stopping here and there. We were able to go on Splash and Big Thunder Mountains, however the boys could not go. They raised the height requirements since the last time we went, and John John was too little, by an inch :( So John and I rider switched and we got to go.
We enjoyed a big lunch at the Starlight Cafe. I still can't get over how much they charge for food, and that was the 'cheap' place.
After lunch, we headed over to Buzz Lightyear, which John John LOVED. The kids posed for a pic in the jail bars with Zerg.
Then we made it over to Toontown to see Minnie's house, (we missed Mickey's, darn LOL) then went shopping for the kids their shirts and hats. We have always gotten the kids their "Ears" the first time they visit. So, we bought Joshie and Dallas's ears. And the kids both got a shirt and a new hat. John John got a pirate Mickey hat and Aliya got a Minnie baseball cap.
On the way back to the other side of the park, you will never guess who we passed. OMG, I did a 360 as we passed them. It was Jon and Kate plus 8! (minus 6, they only had the twins with them) I saw them coming and turned around to John, trying to point without them seeing to look like the crazy idiot that watches their show on Tuesdays.
We finished up the day watching the show, stopping for icecream and riding a few more rides. By that time, John John was telling me he wanted "Go home Mommy" Wow, he asked to leave Disney? He must be tired. We did one more bathroom run, which John John stayed dry the entire time at Disney, woohoo, and left the park.
In the car, we stopped by McDonalds for dinner. The kids filled their bellies and went to sleep. What a day!
